We are currently looking to fill the following position(s):

ESTIMATOR

We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual with both Estimating and construction Project Management experience. Candidate should have more than 5 years experience in construction estimating with a general contractor background. Local market expertise with sub-trades, consultants and owners, as well as exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal will be considered an asset.

The candidate will take the lead in the preparation of a complete estimate/proposal including identifying risk, identifying opportunities and maintaining a win strategy. Other responsibilities include:

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
  • Assess scope of work.
  • Lump Sum Tenders
  • Conceptual Estimating/Budgeting
  • Construction Management
  • Self Perform Work (pricing and productivities)
  • Quantity Take-offs
  • Understands Trade Scope of Work / Jurisdiction
  • Excellent Planning and Time Management Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills (written and verbal)
  • Coordinate with department personnel to assist them in establishing the project scope and standards of construction projects.
We’re looking for a hard working proactive individual who has demonstrated estimating skills, a drive to succeed and who thrives in a team environment. This person needs to be highly organized, good with numbers, Microsoft Excel skills, excellent negotiating, communication and time management skills.

PROJECT MANAGER

We are looking for experienced construction Project Managers who have managed the construction of buildings of all sizes, particularly those complicated in scope. The Candidate should have more than 5 years experience in construction Project Management. Our Project Managers provide overall administrative direction for one large project or several smaller projects and are responsible for project performance including: costs, schedule, changes, quality, and project status.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal and previous experience with a general contractor. Other responsibilities essential to this position include:

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needsand requirements.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Manages project budget.
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and monitor progress
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions
  • Changes and additions to contractual agreements
  • Co-ordinate trade subcontractors activities
  • Assisting the project superintendent to establish and maintain our strong safety culture
  • Ensuring comprehensive project start-up and close-out
  • Efficiently managing project meetings and meeting minutes.
  • Work cohesively with the project coordinator and billing team.
Candidates must have strong leadership skills, considerable experience and success in project planning, scheduling, forecasting and cost control. Superior skills in developing relationships with owners, architects, consultants and sub-trades are essential. Previous experience in Timberline would be an asset.

SITE SUPERINTENDENT

The ideal candidate manages all field construction on small to large projects, as well as the field aspects of a project budget and schedule. As a supervisor, you will lead, organize and motivate individuals to ensure successful completion of all day to day projects on a variety of client sites.

The Candidate will lead all aspects of customer service including the developing and maintaining positive client relations. As a hands on leader, your role will be diversified and challenging. Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage and provide leadership for safety programs
  • Monitor job costing, quality reporting, forecasting and productivity
  • Organize and coordinate all subcontractor activities
  • Supervise and mentor field personnel
  • Implement and monitor the construction plan; including scheduling and logistics
  • Complete field administration: timesheets, quantity reports, purchases and the job diaries
  • Coordinate all manpower, materials and equipment
  • Liaising with owner, client, consultant and public
  • Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control.
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system.
  • Designing of temporary works and inspection
  • Change management - responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration.
  • Subcontract administration - defining scope of work, answering enquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges.
  • Project close-out - involved in coordinating documentation (deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments)
  • Inventory control - monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources.
We are looking for a hard working proactive individual who has demonstrated construction supervision skills and a drive to succeed. Strong leadership skills and superior skills in developing relationships with owners, architects, consultants and sub-trades is a must.

Project Coordinator

This candidate will be expected to assist project managers with overall administrative direction for one large or several smaller projects. Responsible for assisting with overall project performance including costs, changes, quoting and project start up, status and close out. Maintain excellent relationships with sub-trades and clients. Experience working for a general contractor in a construction environment is preferred.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Create Purchase Orders and define scope of work
  • Assemble drawings packages for sub-trades
  • Collect WSIB, insurance and health and safety policies from sub-trades
  • Read drawings and specifications
  • Assemble estimates
  • Forecast
  • Issue change orders, notices, revisions, RFI’s,
  • Know safety practices
  • Review and submit shop drawings
  • Create and understand contracts
  • Obtain and assemble project close-out documentation including: As-built drawings, manuals, warranties
  • Maintain good client and trade relations
  • Obtain change order pricing from sub-contractors/suppliers
  • Assist PM's in maintaining project document log including logging permit, tender, and construction drawings into CMIC
  • Responsible for logging and efficiently transferring shop drawings and/or samples between sub-contractor and consultants
The candidate we are looking for must be highly organized with an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Attention to detail would be a much needed skill. Previous experience in Timberline would be an asset.
