In 2004 Bradford Construction began this project that was to see a century old home become a true balance of old style "village" architecture and modern convenience. Starting with a traditional two story home complete with small rooms and traditional narrow space, Bradford transformed this house into an open, inviting living space without sacrificing the original look and feel of the building. The home now features granite counter tops, and a hidden vacuum system complete with a floor level "crumb" feature in the kitchen.

The home backs onto a conservation area, and the many large windows in the back reflect an appreciation of its surroundings and the nature of Britannia Village. The multiple peaked roof lines are in keeping with other homes in the area, making the new, larger home fit right in. Attention to exterior details makes this home feel like it has always been at the heart of the village.

Exposed brick walls on the inside of the house make use of the existing structure, and add warmth and and feeling of strength to the space. A large in home office above the garage makes excellent use of otherwise vacant space. Maintaining the veranda and the original brick allow the home to keep its charm, while modern enhancements make this house a truly stunning success.
