  • conduct detailed analysis of contract documents for tendering jobs accurately. report any errors or omissions immediately to the president

  • distribute plans and solicit quotations from subcontractors

  • accurately interpret plans and specs to understand trade scopes and communicates gaps / missing information

  • conduct daily searches on all available media/bulletin boards/job postings sites for bid and prequal opportunities. present all findings to the president

  • identify risk factors associated with same and review constructability issues with senior staff

  • prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material and labour costing from the tender documents keeping in mind any productivity impacts

  • prepare project schedules

  • negotiate and award contracts to successful subcontractors

  • review and record scope of work with various trades during tender process

  • maintain strong relationships with the trades

  • complete final cost estimate and bid submission documents for review and approval by the president

  • assist in preparing pre-qual for acquiring new work / new clients

  • maintain accurate and transparent records of tender process for future use/reference


  • - University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management

  • - >5 years estimating experience

  • - Understanding of plan reading and interpretation of tender documents
